Earth Day 2015: Volunteering and Ribbon Cutting

January 21, 2020

Eagle County hosted an Earth Day event this week and invited Sunsense to educate county staff about the advantages of solar for your home. Cristian Basso, an Eagle County based representative for Sunsense, was on hand to answer questions.

The highlight of the day was a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the commissioning of the 49.14 kW solar installation at the Eagle County Campus in Eagle CO. Adam Palmer, Environmental Policy Planner for Eagle County, thanked Sunsense for their work in providing a high quality solar design and installation before inviting Eagle County Commissioners to cut the ribbon.

In the spirit of Earth Day, Sunsense also volunteered and donated the labor to a 3 kW residential PV system for a new Carbondale home built by Habitat for Humanity Roaring Fork Valley in order to help reduce the energy bills for the new owner and lessen their carbon footprint.

It was a great afternoon at the Habitat for Humanity site–even if there was a little rain. Our office crew was especially excited to get out into the field and see our 12th installation for this organization! We also got to enjoy some lunch with the Habitat for Humanity workers while we took a look at the beautiful new home. We love supporting our local community here at Sunsense–especially when it involves going solar!
